Photo and bio of Catherine Condon Hale, or Catherine Hale (1868-1947), "the good Samaritan of the blind community" residing at 3217 Summit Street. Description of her life and career as a native of Chicago coming to Kansas City about 1890 and organizing the Kansas City Association for the Blind and the Catherine Hale Home for Blind Women at 2908 Flora Avenue in 1919 and moved to 2918 Tracy Avenue. Also founder of a blind people's workshop at 415 West 6th Street with J. J. Heim and a larger one at 1844 Broadway.
