Biographical sketch of William Louis Rock, or William Rock, "president of the William L. Rock Flower Company," the "second largest of Chicago" in its line of business. Born in Ohio in 1865 and coming to Kansas City in 1885 as "bookkeeper with the Western Electric Construction Company" before opening his flower business in 1897 "in the confectionery store of James Morton's Sons at No. 1024 Main street" (moved in 1899 to 1116 Walnut Street).
