Photo and bio of William Julius Brown, Sr., (1859-1906), "the first hat manufacturer here," and one of the first hat salesmen. He was born in Ohio and moved to Kansas City in 1885, establishing his hat business that year which was continued by his son, William Brown, Jr., after his death in 1906, residing at 3122 Park Avenue.
