Biographical sketch of George Chase, a retired real estate investor, born in Maine in 1837 and moving to Hawaii before moving to the Kansas City area in 1859 and buying "ten acres of land between Euclid and Brooklyn streets, extending almost from Twelfth to Fourteenth streets," also farming and "conducting a grocery, flour and feed store at Fourth and Walnut streets" and living on 12th Street "for almost half a century.
