Photo and bio of Allen Dean, "a member of the firm of Dean Brothers, conducting the Baltimore, which by reason of the recent changes and improvements made, is today the finest hotel in the west," born in New York in 1854 and arriving in Kansas City about 1898 as operator of the Savoy Hotel with his brother and then taking over the new Baltimore Hotel in 1899 and in 1903 the Midland Hotel.
