Biographical article about Judge William Hockaday Wallace, or William Wallace, "former prosecuting attorney for Jackson county." Born in Kentucky in 1848 and raised in Lee's Summit, Missouri before moving to Independence, Missouri in 1874 as a lawyer and journalist for the Independence Sentinel and Kansas City Times. Later coming to Kansas City in 1880 as prosecuting attorney and becoming known "for his efforts in bringing to punishment the James Boys of Missouri and crushing out the band of outlaws who were bringing terror into every community of this part of the country."
