Biographical sketch of Samuel Moorhead, "a member of the firm of E. Moorhead & Company, dealers in groceries and meats in Kansas City." Born in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1878 and coming to Kansas City in 1884 with his parents and taking over his mother's (Elizabeth Bigam Moorhead, or Elizabeth Moorhead) grocery store about 1903 at 33rd and Troost Avenues (formerly at 16th and Michigan Avenues and 17th and Locust Streets).
