Photo and bio of John Main Guild, or John Guild, general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, born in Scotland in 1875 and distantly related to poet Robert Burns, emigrating to Kansas City in 1917 as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, becoming "a recognized authority on traffic matters, having compiled and issued in 1899 'Guild's Schedule of Freight Rates,' for the use of all Missouri River shippers."
