Photo and bio of John Moore (1840-1917), mayor of Kansas City in 1885. Description of his life and career as a native of Kentucky raised near Blue Springs, Missouri, and serving the Confederacy in the Civil War in Jackson County. Freighter on the Santa Fe Trail after the war and builder of "the first Eagle flourmill at 19th and Walnut" Streets, with residences at 1622 McGee Street and later 2508 East 31st Street.
