Description
A collection of 22 pages of photocopied newspaper articles from the Kansas City Star and Kansas City Times detailing the murder of Jo Ellen Weigel and the subsequent investigation of that crime. Weigel's body was found floating in Lake Winnebago, an exclusive lake development south of Lee's Summit, Missouri in Cass County, wrapped in a fish net and weighted with concrete blocks and water jugs. An autopsy revealed she had been strangled. Her boyfriend, Michael Cline, was indicted by a grand jury for the murder but he left the Lake Winnebago area before he could be taken into custody. He was never found. Each article is annotated with its source and date of publication.
