Description
Short article gives history of the Jackson County Home for Negro Boys located east of the Little Blue River between Independence and Lee's Summit. The Home, erected in 1925, is on farm land owned by Jackson County next to the Jackson County Home for Aged Negroes. The boys are committed to the home by the Juvenile Court and are considered mildly delinquent and neglected as orphans or from broken homes. The Board of Education of Kansas City Public Schools provides teachers for the school, and the County furnishes the home, clothing, food, etc. Article includes photographs.
