Photo and biographical article about John Francisco Richards, or John Richards (1834-1922), founder and president of the Richards & Conover Hardware Company. Native of Virginia raised in Saint Louis and visiting Jackson County in the early 1850s before starting his own hardware business in Leavenworth, Kansas in 1857 and moving it to Kansas City in 1875 (at 5th and Delaware Streets) and later serving as a judge in Jackson County.
