Centerpoint Medical Center opened May 5, 2007. It replaces the former Independence Regional, which opened in 1909, and Medical Center of Independence hospitals in Independence, Missouri. HCA Midwest, owners, say it's the largest hospital built in Missouri in many years. It will employ 1,100 people and is licensed for 257 paitent beds.
