Country singer Garth Brooks helped officially open the new Sprint Center Arena on October 10, 2007, at 10:10 A.M. Over 21,000 people attended the day-long opening and many praised the new arena and its 425 flat-screeen TVs and 2,204 panels of glass. The first show in the new arena will be October 13, an Elton John concert.
