Portrait and biographical sketch of Reverend John Jones (1808-1873), nicknamed Ottawa Jones, a half-Indian minister and Indian interpreter. Description of his life and career. He was born in Canada and moved to America and studied under Reverend Isaac McCoy in Michigan before becoming a merchant in Kansas by 1850. His store and large home near Ottawa, Kansas, "burned down by border ruffians" in 1856.
