Portraits and biographical sketches of H. Miles Moore and Lewis Mayo, early settlers in Leavenworth County, Kansas. Description of Moore as "one of the pioneers of Leavenworth County, and one of the original proprietors of the town of Leavenworth," born in New York in 1826 and moving to Weston, Missouri, in 1850 as a lawyer before moving to Kansas Territory in 1854. Later city attorney of Leavenworth, Kansas and a Kansas state representative. Description of Mayo as a "dealer in farm machinery, located in Leavenworth in May, 1866" and born in Illinois in 1840.
