Photocopy of a magazine article with photos and history of the Old Folks and Orphans' Home "established in December 1889, in a rented building for the purpose of providing food and shelter for aged and destitute colored people and orphan children." Co-organized by Mrs. Johanna Moore and "a few women of St. Augustine's chapel" before being moved from 1308 Vine Street in 1898 to 2446 Michigan Avenue.
