Page 68: "According to the County Economic Research Institute (CERI), as of 1997, Johnson County was in the top one percent of per capita income. From 1990 to 1998, the population increased by a bit less than 75,000. Johnson County's population grows by 10,000 people per year, 505 businesses per year (40 of which are retail), and 9,763 jobs per year. In fact, the population of Johnson County is now neck and neck with the population of Kansas City, Mo.--and shows no signs of slowing."
