Photo and bio of George Shelley (1849-1927), mayor of Kansas City in 1878-1879. Native of Kentucky coming to Kansas City about 1868 as a wholesale dry goods merchant at 306 Delaware Street before becoming the "last manager of the Huron Stores Company, at which time he resided at 712 Wyandotte" Street and the namesake of Shelley Park.
