Description
Photo and bio of George Schaefer (1844-1897), a former builder, grain and meat dealer, and blacksmith of Kansas City. Native of Germany emigrating to Kansas City in 1856 with his parents at their residence at 12th and Main Streets before starting a feed store there. Later builder of "the fine Bernheimer building" in 1884 on the site of his old home and of "the Household Fair building" in 1890.
