Photo and bio of Colonel Frederick Funston, or "Fighting" Fred Funston, a journalist from Kansas and winner of the "Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry" in the Spanish-American War in Cuba and the Philippines in 1897-1898. He began as a reporter for the Santa Fe railroad, lecturer, and expeditioner for the United States Department of Agriculture.
