A group called East Meets West of Troost are promoting the idea of having a green lazer beam shoot down 18th Street and connect the 18th and Vine area with the Crossroads Art District. City Councilman John Sharp plans to sponsor a resoluution in support of this project. A money-raising campaign is scheduled for September and Rockne Krebs, an experienced urban light artist, has been recruited for design work. Crossroads pioneer David Ford says he has already been working on such a project for the past 10 years. Hopefully the idea will help to promote economic revitalization to the east side by tying it to the Crossroads area.
