Note(s)
Willliam Allen White and his wife, Sallie Lindsey White, rented the house in 1899 and purchased it in 1901 for $6,000. They lived there 45 years. The house received the name Red Rocks because of the bright sandstone in its first floor, thought to have been quarried near the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs....The home was named a National HIstoric Landmark in 1976.
