Photo and bio of Ed Orear, "prominent real estate dealer and treasurer of the Consumers' Bread Company." Born in Saline County, Missouri in 1857 and serving as Missouri state treasurer before coming to Kansas City in 1906 as organizer of the Gate City Bank and in 1909 building "the Orear-Leslie Building at 1012 Baltimore Avenue, eleven stories tall, and one of the most modern structures in the city."
