Description
Article on the efforts by the Friends of Sheffield organization to restore and maintain the cemetery since 2003. Sheffield Cemetery was established in 1901 and is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Kansas City. In order to raise funds to renovate the cemetery's chapel, the organization has planned a benefit featuring actor Ed Asner in his one-man show, "FDR." Asner is a native of Kansas City, Kansas, and his parents are buried in the cemetery.
