Photos and biographical article about the father and daughter architectural team of Dr. James Stewart (1852-1920) and his daughter Carrie Stewart. Description of James as a native of Indiana coming to Kansas City in 1890 as an architect (with residential designs at 401 East 36th Street, 701 Cleveland Avenue, and 3803 East 7th Street), and later becoming a physician. Description of Carrie as an architect trained by her father in the 1890s and designing the George Hope residence at 1333 Linwood Boulevard in 1898, demolished in 1971. Photograph published in the Kansas City World, ca. 1898-99 of house at 1333 Linwood Avenue can be found in Vertical File: Residences.
