File containing a photo and information on Dr. John Edward Perry, or J. Edward Perry (1870-1962), a pioneer African American physician in Kansas City. Native of Texas coming here in 1903 as builder of the Perry Sanitarium at 1214 Vine Street (opened in 1910) and founder of the Wheatley-Provident Hospital at 1826 Forest Avenue (converted by him from a parochial school), with residence at 2451 Montgall Avenue.
