Photo (of Dr. Waldo) and biographical article (written by Waldo's grandson) about Dr. David Waldo (1802-1878), a "physician, soldier, wealthy landowner, and early day Santa Fe trader" of Independence, Missouri. Native of Virginia moving to Independence in the late 1820s as a doctor and overland freighter becoming a military officer in the Mexican War and owner of "all of the land in what is now Kansas City [Waldo district], from 63rd to 77th and Wornall to Troost" Avenues.
