Description
In February 2007, Missouri Governer Matt Blunt and Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius participated in the Governor's Summit on Regional Economic Development and pledged to unite on economic development issues impacting the Kansas City metropolitan area. The article examines the long-standing friction between political and business interests on either side of the Missouri/Kansas state line. Much of the focus is on the health care sector, and the difficulty in fostering bi-state cooperation between Kansas City-area hospitals.
