Description
The second in a four-part series examining the economic, social, and racial divisions between the communities located on either side of Troost Avenue. The street is considered to be a dividing line between the economically depressed--and predominately black--neighborhoods to the east and more affluent white neighborhoods west of Troost. This installment focuses on the decline of the East Side neighborhoods, as well as efforts by the community groups and the City Council to revitalize the area.
