Virginia Davis, the star in Walt Disney's first films, died August 15, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. Davis first appeared in "Alice's Wonderland" which was filmed in Kansas City when she was four years old. When Laugh-O-Gram studios declared bankruptcy and Disney moved to California, the Davis family followed, and Virginia Davis went on to star in 12 Disney films. Davis was awarded the Disney Legend Award in 1998 for contributing to the heritage of the Walt Disney company.
