Native of Little Rock coming to Kansas City around 1930-1932 as "the author of several popular songs, such as 'Pray for the Lights to Go Out," 'Somebody's Done Me Wrong,' and 'Nobody's Business but My Own,'" and publisher of "the famous novelty number of the 20's, 'Yes, We Have No Bananas.'"
