The 15-story hotel at the Truman Sports Complex is once again a part of the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts group. The last three years it has been a Clarion. Prior to that, it was owned by the St. Louis-based HBE Corp,. manager of the Adam's Mark group that bought the hotel in 1979 that opened in 1974 as the Sheraton-Royal Hotel and owned by the then Kansas City Royals owner Ewing Kauffman. The renovation of the hotel includes the addition of a 60,000-square-foot CoCo Key waterpark.
