Instrumental in the 1949 ruling desegregating Merriam's schools, Corinthian Nutter, a civil-rights pioneer, died February 11, 2004. The article reviews her role in the Webb v. School District 90 as well as her life as an educator. She spent many years as a sixth-grade teacher at Westview Elementary School in Olathe and also served as a principal there. She retired in 1972.
