Description
Article on the effort to prevent the four buildings at 110 through 118 West Armour from being demolished. The Old Hyde Park Historic District, along with the Historic Kansas City Foundation and Kansas City Councilman Jim Glover, protested and persuaded Antheus Capital, the New Jersey developer who owns the buildings, to renovate them instead of tearing them down to create a parking lot. The apartment building and three duplexes were designed by noted Kansas City architect John W. McKencknie and built in 1902 and 1903, respectively.
