Description
The Kansas City School Board by a 5-2 margin approved a reorganization plan which calls for all elementary schools to be pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade by 2009. Several African American School Board members have voiced concern over the K-8 model--and that School Superintendent, Anthony Amato, has provided insufficient data in terms of how the new plan will impact predominately African American schools in the 3rd and 5th districts.
