To help people remember and learn about the era known as Bleeding Kansas," lawmakers in Washington have proposed creating a national heritage area involving two dozen Kansas counties." The legislation, introduced by Kansas Senators Sam Brownback and Pat Robert, would create the Bleeding Kansas and the Enduring Struggle for Freedom National Heritage Area.
