Description
Article reports on the decline of flour milling in Kansas City and the Midwest, largely due to the consolidation of mills and need for grain to be shipped less distances by railroad. The Kansas City area was once home to dozens of mills, but there are currently only two in operation, General Mills and Cereal Food Processors. The Archer Daniels Midland mill in North Kansas City recently closed its doors.
