Article states that Benjamin "Pap" Singleton was responsible for the founding of migrant African Americans into 11 colonies in Kansas alone between 1873 and 1880. Included are the names of numerous colonies including those located in this area primarily in Wyandotte County. These local colonies include Juniper Town located at the mouth of the Kaw or Kansas River, Rattlebone Hollow and Hogg's Town. The heaviest year for immigration in this area appears to be 1879. Also mentioned are various people associated with the colonization efforts. This is Junius George Groves known in this area as the "Kaw Valley Potato King".
