According to this newspaper article, people boarded Kansas City buses at least 15 million times in 2007, up four percent from the previous year. A 35-year low was reached in 2004. "Across the state line, suburban Johnson County saw astonishing numbers. Ridership there exploded by 32 percent last year, with roughly 389,000 riders boarding buses last year." The MAX line in Kansas City has been popular as well as a Johnson County K-10 route to Lawrence, Kansas. The article includes a graph showing ridership for the past five years for Kansas City, Johnson County, and Wyandotte County.
