Entry with photo and bio of Annie Ridenbaugh Bird, or Annie Bird (1856-1937), president of the Emery, Bird, Thayer Dry Goods Company for 17 years. Description of her life and career as a native of Saint Joseph coming to Kansas City in 1880 and assuming the company presidency after her husband's death in 1918, with residences at 706 West 10th Street and then 3600 Broadway (called Elmhurst for its foliage before being demolished about 1937).
