Obituary for Ilus W. "Ike" Davis (1917-1996), "former mayor of Kansas City, attorney, and [State Historical] Society [of Missouri] trustee," describing his life and career. Born in Kansas City, graduated from both Kansas and Missouri Universities, served in World War II and was on the Kansas City City Council from 1948 to 1955, became mayor in 1963 until 1971, and served as president of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners from 1973 to 1977.
